Create Banners Using the Banner Builder

Overview

The Banner Builder allows you to convert a resource in the Banner Media Group into a Banner. A Banner is a pre-configured set of images, text, and buttons that are grouped as a single item. Each Banner can be included in any number of Rotating Banners as defined by the RELAY_BANNER Relaytag. Because each Banner is created independently, you can shuffle and reuse them as required. Once created, a Banner can be edited by selecting it from the Banner List instead of adding a new Banner.

Before You Begin 

• Log in to PRM Admin with elementTask Level 1. 
• You must have uploaded resources to the Banner Media Group.

How to Create a Banner Using the Banner Builder

1. Navigate to Portal and CMS > Banner Builder.
2. Click Add Banner.
3. Provide the following information:
   • Banner Name: Provide a user-friendly name for this new banner. This will be the name that appears in the Available Choices and Selected Choices fields of the RELAY_BANNER Relaytag editor so ensure it is informative.
   • Background Image: Select one of the images from the dropdown list. You can add or remove items to this list by modifying the resources in the Banner Media Group.
     Note: If you add an image to the Banner, it will be displayed to all users who can see the Banner.
   • Heading Text: Any text entered here will be displayed in the selected Heading Text Color and in a larger size at the top of the Banner.
   • Language: This determines the language in which the Banner will be displayed.
   • Heading Text Color: Sets the color of the Heading Text. Remember that the legibility of the Heading Text will be a function of the Heading Text Color against the Background Image.
   • Paragraph Text: Text entered here will be displayed in a smaller font, below the Heading Text in the Paragraph Text Color.
   • Paragraph Text Color: Sets the color of Paragraph Text. Again, this should be considered against the Background Image.
   • Button Text: This is the text that will be shown on the link button.
   • Button URL: This is the URL to which clicking the button should redirect users.
   • Visibility: The visibility restrictions of this banner item. (Defaults to visible to all)
