Upload Courseware

Overview

Zift PRM Training provides all the tools needed to create and deliver a comprehensive training program to internal staff, partners, and the public. Zift Training software can support either virtual or classroom training and allows both directed and on-demand training.

You must follow this procedure to upload an existing SCO .zip file to Zift PRM. The SCO is uploaded as a .zip file to the Media Library; existing Media Manager functionality handles unzipping the contents of the archive to a retrievable location.

The Zift PRM user configuring Training is responsible for using the Module Edit screen to identify the physical filename of the ‘launcher’ file within the SCO.

To run SCO Courseware, the user’s system will need to support any additional technologies that might be required by that SCO, for example, this may include Adobe Flash.

Note: If the Courseware dates do not correspond to the Module dates, Modules may appear empty to users.

Before You Begin 

Log into PRM Admin with elementTask Level 2 rights or greater.

 How to Upload Courseware

1. Navigate to Training > Courseware.
2. Click Upload New Resource.
3. Provide the Courseware definition parameter values for the course you are uploading.
4. Click Save.

Parameter	Description
Resource Type	Select Courseware.
Source: Upload File	Click Choose File to open an explorer window. Navigate to the desired zipped SCO package and click Open.
Files Replace	Specify if the file selected should replace or supplement any existing files. This setting will only have an effect if you are editing a Courseware resource that already has associated files.
Title	This is the name will be used throughout Zift PRMto reference this specific Courseware resource.
Family	This setting is only used if you are creating different language versions of the same Courseware. It allows the most appropriate version to be presented to a user depending on their language settings.
Sort Order	Specifies the rank of this item in any list. Items with the same Sort Order value will be further sorted into alphabetical order.
Description	You should provide a short description of the Courseware including subject, content, and so on. This will simplify administration in the future.
Language	The language of this Courseware. Wherever possible, Zift PRM will display the language version that corresponds to a user's language preferences setting.
Associate with a Campaign	If this Courseware was developed to support a specific campaign, this setting allows you to declare that association.
Publish	This is the date when the Courseware will become available.
Retire/Review Date	Date when the Courseware will become unavailable. This setting can be used to schedule content reviews to ensure that the Courseware does not become obsolete.
Resource Image	The image file that can be used as a thumbnail for this Courseware.
Restrict to Countries	Limit the users who can access this Courseware to those from specific countries.
Restrict to User Groups	Limit the visibility to specific User Groups.
Email me when downloaded?	Will send an email to the user uploading this courseware each time it is downloaded.
Keywords	Enter any words that will help users search for this Courseware and determine its relevance.
Keywords	Pre-configured keywords which are the Product SKUs from your principal catalog.
Edit Options > Restrict to User Groups	Restrict editing rights for this Courseware to specific User Groups.
